Terms and Conditions — Sam Taylor Carpentry
1. Quotation Validity
All quotations provided by Sam Taylor Carpentry are valid for three (3) months from the date of issue. After this period, prices, material availability, or scheduling may change, and a new quotation may be required.
2. Payment Terms (Deposit & Final Balance)
A 70% deposit is required to secure your order and begin production. This deposit covers the cost of custom materials, planning, and production. The remaining 30% is due upon completion of the installation.
The deposit amount reflects the non-recoverable costs incurred in manufacturing bespoke products.
If you cancel your order after placing it, cancellation charges may apply to cover costs already incurred. Details will be provided upon request.
3. Storage Charges
If installation is delayed by more than six weeks after your order is ready — through no fault of Sam Taylor Carpentry — a storage fee of £25 per week will apply to cover secure storage and insurance costs.
We will notify you in writing before any storage fees are applied and will work with you to reschedule installation where possible.
4. Stone Worktops
Stone worktops are custom-made and can only be templated once:
There is a 2-week lead time for slab delivery to the fabricator once the deposit is paid, followed by a 2/3-week lead time for fabrication and shipping.
Delays caused by incomplete site preparation may incur additional call-out charges.
5. Third-Party Delivery Liability
We use reputable delivery partners, but Sam Taylor Carpentry is not liable for delays, loss, or damage caused by third-party couriers. We will assist you in making claims where appropriate and ensure all items are properly packaged before dispatch.
6. Bedroom Furniture and Flooring
To ensure precise installation, carpet should be laid only after bedroom furniture fitting or be cut back accordingly. Sam Taylor Carpentry cannot accept responsibility for cutting, damage, or finishing to existing carpet.
7. Cancellation Policy
You have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days if the contract was made off-premises or at a distance (e.g., by phone, email, or website) in accordance with The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations applicable in Guernsey.
If you request that work begin within this 14-day period, you may lose your right to cancel and may be charged for work done before cancellation.
Bespoke or made-to-order items cannot be cancelled once manufacturing has started unless they are faulty.
8. Design Ownership
All drawings, plans, and designs produced by Sam Taylor Carpentry remain our intellectual property and may not be reproduced or used elsewhere without our written permission.
Full ownership transfers to the client only once full payment has been received.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Guernsey.
10. Data Protection
Any personal data collected in connection with your order will be processed in accordance with The Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.
